Two Part Saturday Workshop

There will be a Two Part Hand-Building Pottery Workshop which takes place on two Saturday afternoons - the 19th November and the 10th December - 3.00pm to 5.00pm*.

The cost of the two-part workshop is £70 which includes all materials and firing up to stoneware temperatures. To book, go to the 'Locations and Bookings' page and
send a message.
All about the workshops.......

In the first workshop, you will make a hand-built pot, a bowl or vase. I will demonstrate a technique which encourages individuality and creativity, at the same time, ensuring success.  There is the option of using moulds, decorating with different textures and deciding on your own unique design. We can use lace, anaglypta paper, sprig moulds, wooden stampers, lettering, textures from nature.... This is the chance to explore your creativity and make something to keep and use in your home!

The pots are then dried out and fired to 1000c ready for the second workshop when you will learn how to glaze it.

The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.
There will be just six participants allowing lots of individual help. But also means spaces are limited.

In the second workshop on the 10th of December, participants will glaze their piece using a wide choice of stoneware glazes, underglazes and oxides. This include learning about how glazes are made and different ways of applying them. The pots will then be fired to 1240c, making them strong and frost proof. Depending on the technique chosen, this workshop may not take the full two hours whereas the first workshop may take longer than two hours.*
